The Junior Specialist position in Prof. Morse’s research group will enable research that requires skills and knowledge in molecular biology, biochemistry and genetics with a focus on protein cloning, expression, engineering, purification and characterization.
The posted UC system-wide salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 24B for the salary range at UCSB. The salary range for this position is $50,300 – $53,600. “Off-scale salaries”, i.e. a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.
