The Department of Microbiology & Immunology, Emory University School of Medicine, invites applications for a tenure eligible position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor within the broad fields of antimicrobial resistance and bacterial pathogenesis.  Applicants that utilize studies in bacterial physiology, bacterial-host interactions, and/or genomic/genetic approaches as it applies to the above fields are especially encouraged to apply.

Our Department is scientifically diverse, with significant strengths in bacterial pathogenesis, antimicrobial resistance, molecular virology, genetics and molecular biology, immunology, and vaccinology. Graduate education is robust at Emory and our faculty have access to multiple diverse graduate programs. Our research facilities are state-of-the-art and include biocontainment labs and several excellent core facilitiessuch as the Emory Integrated Proteomics Core, Emory Comprehensive Glycomics Core, Emory Gnotobiotic Animal Core, and the Emory Integrated Genomics Core. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree and a record of scholarly accomplishment commensurate with rank. Ideal candidates will be collaborative scientists that bring new perspectives and innovation to the Department. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an extramurally funded research program and to participate in our graduate and medical student training programs through mentorship and teaching. The primary criteria for selection will be excellence and creativity in research and scholarship.
